The Conversation

Dear God,
Please give me a nod
Cus I’m about to say some real stuff
And rant about how life’s been tough
These streets run out of love
And there was no sign from the dove
I’ve been with myself through this race
And now I see why I need your Grace

Dear God, please spare thy rod
All I wanted was to win
But life made me Sin
And today I’m here sober
In tears and dialing your number
Cus I’m really feeling diseased
and I fear I might soon be deceased

Dear God, So its me once again
Calling You out and ranting in pain
I seek Your face and Your rain
Cus without You life will be in vain
Would You please give me a sign
And before my enemies make me dine
I just wanna hear Your voice
So I’m guided to make the right choice

And now I’m so weary
And my eyes all teary
My voice seems to fade
But I know I’m the very creature You made
At this moment I’m just full of questions
And it sure ain’t gonna end after this session

So Dear God,
Why did I have to fail
Why were You not with me in the sail
Why wasn’t my face covered in lace
And why didn’t You let me lead the pace
I sit here today and I reflect
It all seems like there was a neglect
You said You would hold me tight
And that You won’t let me out of sight

So Dear God
Its me, the human
Just asking that You make me a new man
And that You please hold my hand
And take me to the promised land
Start with me like a beginner
And let me emerge a winner
Use me as You will
Else life would make me a kill
